What is Ultherapy?

Alford Facial Plastic Surgery can help improve your skin's elasticity using Ultherapy, a nonsurgical, FDA-approved procedure for toning loose skin on the face, neck, and chest. Ultherapy uses ultrasound waves to increase the laxity of your skin and to promote natural collagen production from within. The treatment is fast and effective, and facial plastic surgeon Dr. Eugene Alford is proud to offer it to the men and women of Houston, TX. This treatment may be used in combination with other skin rejuvenation procedures, such as laser skin resurfacing or an injectable to leave the skin looking younger and softer. Ultherapy Ideal Candidates

Ultherapy can be beneficial to both men and women who have noticed a slight droop in their jowl or have excess skin around their brow, eyes, and mouth. If you have severe sagging or deeper lines and wrinkles, a facelift may be a more suitable option for you. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Alford to learn the best course of treatment for your specific needs.

Our Ultherapy Technique

Based on how many areas you are having treated, your sessions can last anywhere from 30 – 90 minutes. When you arrive, you will relax in one of our comfortable minor procedure rooms where a team member will clean and prepare the skin to be treated; in some cases, a numbing cream may be applied. During the session, a small handheld wand will be passed over your skin emitting ultrasound energy waves. It's normal for the treated skin to appear slightly pink and swollen afterward. You may apply ice packs and take an over-the-counter pain reliever to treat the inflammation and slight discomfort. After the treatment, you will be free to resume your daily activities. You can even put on cosmetics if you wish.

What to Expect with Ultherapy®

The results of Ultherapy will not appear right away. It takes some time for your skin to heal after an Ultherapy treatment. You may see some initial effect, but it takes about 2 – 3 months for the body to fully replace the old collagen in the skin and tighten to desired results. As the skin continues to age, it is recommended to schedule touch-up treatments to maintain collagen production.

Ultherapy Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Ultherapy cost?
The cost of your Ultherapy treatment will depend on your unique needs and the number of areas being addressed. During your first visit, Dr. Alford will discuss the recommended number of treatments and provide an estimated cost. Alford Facial Plastic Surgery accepts many forms of payment and can help you find low-interest medical financing.

What areas does Ultherapy treat?
Ultherapy is great to either reduce signs of aging in your skin or prevent the development of problems, like lines and wrinkles. Ultherapy can treat a variety of areas, including the chest, neck, and face. Ultherapy is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a viable treatment to address loose skin for a tighter, younger-looking appearance.

Who should get Ultherapy?
Anyone who wants healthier skin may benefit from Ultherapy. Most commonly, those who are between the ages of 30 – 40 seek this treatment to slow down the unwanted effects of aging. It is an ideal treatment for those who still have good skin tone but are beginning to notice the side effects of aging. The results will be gradual, but the quality of improvement is significant as the healing starts within the skin. If you are thinking about Ultherapy and live in the Houston, TX area, call Alford Facial Plastic Surgery for a consultation.

Will I see results from Ultherapy right away?
Immediate improvement is not usually seen right after your first Ultherapy treatment. It takes time for the skin to heal and produce natural collagen. Optimal results become more noticeable after a few months. Typically, most of Dr. Alford’s patients opt to repeat the treatment around 12 months after their initial session.
